Today, I’m sharing some simple Korean phrases you can use when introducing yourself as a K-POP fan—whether it’s on social media, at concerts, or when you meet other fans in person. ✨
These phrases are short and easy to remember, so you can start using them right away.

1. Today’s Skit
Scene: At a concert venue — you start talking to the fan sitting next to you.
Sujin: 안녕하세요! 제 이름은 수진이에요. (annyeonghaseyo!je ireumeun Sujin-ieyo.)
Jimin: 안녕하세요! 저는 지민이에요. (annyeonghaseyo! jeoneun Jimin-ieyo.)
Sujin: 제 최애는 태용이에요. (je choe-ae-neun Taeyong-ieyo.)
Jimin: 와, 저도 태용 좋아해요! (wa, jeodo Taeyong joahaeyo!)
Sujin: 만나서 반가워요! (mannaseo bangawoyo!)
Jimin: 같이 응원해요! (gachi eungwonhaeyo!)
Vocabulary
안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo) — Hello (polite)
수진 (Sujin) — Sujin (a Korean name)
지민 (Jimin) — Jimin (a Korean name)
태용 (Taeyong) — Taeyong (K-pop idol name example)
제 이름은 ~이에요/예요 (je ireumeun ~ieyo/yeyo) — My name is ~.
저는 ~이에요/예요 (jeoneun ~ieyo/yeyo) — I’m ~.
제 최애는 ~이에요 (je choe-ae-neun ~ieyo) — My bias is ~.
최애 (choe-ae) = “ultimate favorite,” “bias”좋아해요 (joahaeyo) — I like (them/it).
와 (wa) — Wow!
만나서 반가워요 (mannaseo bangawoyo) — Nice to meet you.
같이 응원해요 (gachi eungwonhaeyo) — Let’s cheer together!
Mini Grammar Notes
• ~이에요 / ~예요
These are polite sentence endings used when stating something (like your name or identity).
Use 이에요 (ieyo) when the word has a final consonant (batchim).
Use 예요 (yeyo) when the word does not have a final consonant.
Example:
태용 (Taeyong) ends with a consonant sound
→ 태용이에요 (Taeyong-ieyo) ❌ 태용예요 is incorrect.
• 제 (je) vs 저 (jeo)
저 (jeo) = “I / me” (polite)
제 (je) = “my” (polite)
→ It’s actually 저 + 의 (“my”) shortened in everyday Korean.
Example:
제 이름은 수진이에요. (My name is Sujin.)
저는 K-POP 팬이에요. (I am K-POP fan.)
2. Skit Breakdown
Let’s go through the skit line by line.
Sujin: 안녕하세요!
→ Hello!
Sujin: 제 이름은 수진이에요.
→ My name is Sujin.
Jimin: 안녕하세요!
→ Hello!
Jimin: 저는 지민이에요.
→ I’m Jimin. / My name is Jimin.
Sujin: 제 최애는 태용이에요.
→ My bias (favorite member) is Taeyong.
Jimin: 와, 저도 태용 좋아해요!
→ Wow, I like Taeyong too!
Sujin: 만나서 반가워요!
→ Nice to meet you!
Jimin: 같이 응원해요!
→ Let’s cheer together! / Let’s support him together!
Today’s skit was a bit longer, but these are very common phrases.

3. Phrases to Talk About Your Bias / Favorite Group
Let’s try rewriting the phrases from today’s skit using your name and your bias.
Replace the blanks with the name of your favorite member or group 💗
